Ming Yuan (1997, Chengdu) is a multidisciplinary artist working mainly with sound, sculptures, texts, and printing. She currently lives in Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, and Chengdu and studies her master degree of fine art with professor Hassan Khan at the Städelschule. Her work takes a critical view of personal political, cultural, and philosophical equilibrium. Engaging subjects such as feminist rebellion, apocalyptic allegory, ancient mythological figures, retro futurism, she questions the contemporary and its evolution. Her research mainly examine non-violent strategies to tackle violence and break out of the cycle of mirroring retaliation. She experiments with the visuality and ephemerality of sound and other intangible matters.
